so the other day when fatty mcnatty turned 9 months, i actually had to COUNT ON MY FINGERS because i totally thought that she was only 8 months. not sure what happened to that other month, but apparently we went through it. 9 months is how long you were inside of me. how long it took to grow you to you. and now you have been outside as long as you were inside. it's a crazy milestone.
what have you been doing? let me see - crawling everywhere, pulling up, standing on your own, eating a lot, learning to drink from a sippy cup and a real cup (as long as i hold it), you have 3 new teeth on top (that was a fun week) and i think you may be getting 2 more on the bottom. you can say bye bye, ma ma, and i think maybe say hi, but i am not sure. you love your parents but really love your sister and you two play together so well. babyhead loves to read to you and you love to hear her voice. you are daring and not scared, which scares the crap out of your daddy and me becasue you just keep doing stuff, regardless of the danger, until you can do it without getting hurt (example - standing on your own) and you laugh when we tell you "no" (example - licking the av cable outlet {there is NO POWER TO IT, but still} , or putting leaves in your mouth, or eating sidewalk chalk, or trying to climb up the step stool, or pretty much anything you shouldn't be doing.)
everyday i love you more and wonder how i ever thought i wasn't going to be able to love 2 kids. i was so worried that i didn't have room in my heart for more love that how i feel for babyhead, but there you go. i made room.
i also wonder how on earth you and your sister came from the same gene pool, since you are total opposites. but as your doctor pointed out, "yeah, it's not like they look the same". oh except you still have your blue eyes. wonder if they will stay.
you are 20 lbs now, which i totally thought you were bigger, but you are still a tank. babyhead was only 20 barely at her first birthday. ha ha you win. just kidding. life in not a race or a competition. just remember that. you and babyhead, and me and daddy for that matter, are all on the same team. we are a family. and i love it!
