More zoo pictures

Here are some that my mom took. Look at that belly! :)

Buying popcorn to feed the ducks outside

Feeding the ducks, and pigeons, and who knows what else. I think there was an otter??

Checking out the animals. Madison just LOVES the zoo!

Trip to the zoo

A few weekends ago we went to the Zoo with my mom. I thought it would be nice to have one last "family" outing, plus the walking wouldn't hurt! These are some of the pictures!

Madison's excitement is obvious!

Right after we saw the "daddy giraffe" pooping!

Mommy giraffe and the new baby that is about 5 months old

Meerkats! :)

What's with the BBQ

So it amazes me just how different every pregnancy really is. And while I cannot go into all the differences here, because I do not have the time or patience to do that right now, I will say that the food aversion is the biggest difference. When I was pregnant with Madison, I couldn't STAND the smell of cooked meat. You know that smell when they tar a road? That is exactly what meat smelled, and tasted like, to me.

Now I can't get enough BBQ. Had it for lunch today. Had it about 6 times in the last month. At least it is a good source of protein, right? :)

Today, while eating the chicken, beans and fried okra, I thought "if I go into labor, it is going to suck throwing this up". But then again I think that almost every time I eat now. Oh the JOY!

Still around

I haven't posted in a while, not for lack of things to talk about but for lack of energy. Oh well. I had an ultrasound yesterday to check for last minute concerns before my VBAC and everything is looking great.

I found a wonderful blog online done by a L&D nurse. All of her posts are great, but this one I found I have to link to. I will call it my open letter to my birth attendants.

Read it with an open mind. And look around to the other stories if you are interested in that sort of thing.

I go back to the doctor on Thursday for a final discussion of all of the results from the ultrasound and to finalize our plans for this labor and delivery. Then hopefully I will go into spontaneous labor all by myself. Preferably soon and when my doctor is on call. :)

How could I forget!

So we had our first ripe tomato last night. Just over 1 week earlier than last year. Woo Hoo!

Crazy nesting baking

So this weekend, since I was all by my self with Rob busy at parade of homes, I figured I would cook. I made bread again, and I used honey instead of sugar, less flour (and all white), and used the "baked goods mode" and it was AMAZING - seriously. Who would have thought that the perfect 100 degree oven would be ideal... Oh wait, Kitchenaide did... LOL

I also got crazy and made a Key Lime Chiffon Pie. Really good, but a lot of work - so might just stick to normal key lime pies from now on. Those are a lot easier. I also made fish tacos, but with oven roasted salmon, not fried fish. TASTY!

Madison & I had a rough weekend - mostly because I was exhausted by 10 am (and not due to the cooking, just due to the bowling ball hanging off the front of me!) and she was still running circles around me at 8pm. And with Rob gone I was miserable. Meredith did help me out on Saturday and it was a saving grace. Let me tell you! And as soon as Rob got home on Sunday he took Madison outside so I just laid on the couch and was so tired I couldn't have fallen asleep.

On top of that, I have not been sleeping well at all. last night a storm woke me up at 2:30 and I didn't fall back asleep until almost 5. I then had to get up at 5:40. BUT I suppose it is GOOD practice for the near future... LOL

just tryin' to keep it positive!
